Sassomano is a natural Tuscan red. Made from the canaiolo grape this brings together a smokiness with a smattery of red and dark fruits.
The tannins in this are big and the acid packs a punch too. Really, really suits food – or by itself if you love big, dry Tuscan reds. This can withstand a lot of food dishes, so don't have it alongside something light.
The winemakers have a huge preference for native vines, and have been restoring many vineyards to former glory.
As a 2015, this is one of the oldest wines we've sent out so far – and it's really coming into its own as we speak.
