Great aromatics on this, as well as some minerality, something salty, a touch of marzipan, and some wild roses. The verdejo grape was rescued from near obscurity. Here it grows high altitude at 900m. The Mersilea vineyard is on a plateau which is a huge hill with a flat top so that it looks like a table. The altitude is vital in this very hot part of central Spain. It cools the vineyard down so that the grapes don't get cooked in the hot sun.
