Brothers Bob and Jim Varner of Varner Wines are identical twins - one studied oenology (wine) at university, the other studied biology. Together, they make the perfect duo. At Varner Wines in Central Coast, California, the Varners farm organically. Chardonnay is a chameleon grape, taking on different flavours depending on where it's grown. Over in California, the valleys absorb a cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean which drifts over to the vineyards. This acts as protection from the hot summer sun, giving the wine a more elegant flavour.
